Kazbek Abraliev, Syracuse University Humphrey Fellow On the 10th anniversary of the Tulip Revolution in Kyrgyzstan, Humphrey Fellow Kazbek Abraliev offers his perspective as a founder of the revolutionary youth movement KelKel (Renaissance), the expectations of the revolution and its struggle for democracy and human rights. A second revolution occurred in 2010, which threatened the progress made since 2005. He'll discuss the role of youth activists in these struggles, participation in the protest movement and the current state of his country as a result. About the speaker: Kazbek Abraliev is a Humphrey Fellow at the Maxwell School, Syracuse University. He was most recently the ICT Deputy Director at the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic. Mr. Abraliev focused on new technologies, and his department at the National Library provided support to public libraries in the country and worked to digitize content so books were more accessible nationally.
